Brita Nordgren

Games and Woodworking

Brita attended the Emerson Waldorf School in Chapel Hill, NC through 8th grade, where her mother also taught. Ever grateful for the opportunity to experience Waldorf Education first hand, she is a passionate advocate for Waldorf Education.  Brita holds a BA in Art History from the University of North Carolina at Asheville where she was a DI scholarship athlete. After graduating, she pursued further studies in furniture design and woodworking at Capellagården Folkskolan in Sweden.  Brita has served many different roles at AWS over the years and is thrilled to be combining her passions for movement and woodworking with the students of AWS.

Brita is a mother of two daughters, both of which attend Asheville Waldorf School. She enjoys the gifts of movement, handwork, and wood carving. She enjoys spending time with her husband and girls just north of Asheville.
