Kelsey DionLLEN

Fourth Grade Teacher

Kelsey Dion was raised in the snowy Sierra Nevada Mountains were she first fostered her love of outside recreation and working with children. She continued to pursue this passion as she completed two BA’s in European History and Studio Art at Bates College in southern Maine before completing her Waldorf Teacher Training in 2016 from the Bay Area Center for Waldorf Teachers.  While in school, she worked as an Early Childhood assistant, an apprentice teacher, and then moved with the students to teach 1st and 2nd grade until Spring of 2020 all in the sunny California foothills. Each summer she would throw out her daily school routine, pack up her car and spend her time raft guiding on many different California rivers outside of Yosemite. As a teacher, Kelsey strives to meet the children that are in front of her on that particular day. She works to see each child at their highest potential and help them to overcome any hindrances that stand in their way. She values how Waldorf Education allows the faculty, students and parents to work together holding the children at the center. Kelsey is an avid river lover, hiker, skier and biker and has been inspired by the adventures awaiting in Asheville. When she is not in the classroom, she can be found outside running, biking, hiking, napping, rafting or reading.
