I was introduced to Waldorf education after the birth of my daughter. When she was brand new to this world I would spend long days in bed with her, reading every book I could get my hands on about the different styles of parenting and education and this research became my passion. What I learned about Waldorf education moved me deeply and inspired me to open a Waldorf-inspired childcare program in our home, which I continued to develop and operate until my sweet Maya started kindergarten at the Asheville Waldorf School.
I moved to Asheville to attend Warren Wilson College. I earned a degree in Social Work there and spent many years working at local nonprofits. These days you can find me at the front desk of our dear school or at my West Asheville home with Maya, our cat and dog, and our five chickens. I spend every moment of my spare time outside, hiking and swimming. We also love crafting, quilting, and cooking.
