SHIKHA JOHNSON

Shikha has been connected to our school community as a substitute teacher for the past two years and has been looking forward to becoming more deeply involved with AWS.  Shikha is originally from India and, after meeting her husband at a yoga school, moved to the US three years ago. She completed her Waldorf Foundation Training, as well as a Montessori training, and has taught at holistic private schools in India for over 5 years. She is attending first grade specific Waldorf intensives this summer and plans to continue her Waldorf Education training next summer.  Shikha is also a yoga teacher and loves singing chants with a local kirtan band. In her free time, she enjoys singing, cooking and traveling. She is thrilled to be joining the Asheville Waldorf School and to have the opportunity to create a wonderful world of imagination and wonder with the first grade children!
