WHAT IS ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN:

The Annual Giving Campaign is a yearly appeal to board members, parents, grandparents, alumni parents, alumni, faculty, staff, family, and friends for financial contributions to support the school’s operating expenses and tuition assistance program. This year, Asheville Waldorf School’s Annual Giving Campaign goal is $100,000.

WHY IS THE ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN NECESSARY?

The Annual Giving Campaign helps us flourish and grow so we can give the gift of Waldorf Education to our children and community for years to come.

Asheville Waldorf School families already make a significant financial contribution to the school by paying tuition. However, there is a gap between tuition income and AWS annual operating budget. Many Waldorf and independent schools ask their communities to support them in this way. We are sustained by the collective generosity of parents, grandparents, friends and business sponsors who make tax-deductible gifts of all sizes, each year, through Annual Giving.

HOW DOES THE ASHEVILLE WALDORF SCHOOL RAISE MONEY IN ADDITION TO THE ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN?

In addition to the Annual Giving Campaign, Asheville Waldorf School depends on other fundraisers including Giving Tuesday, Winter Faire, and Spring Bloom to raise money.

WHY IS 100% PARTICIPATION IMPORTANT?

The school’s financial strength is dependent on the participation of all members of its constituency. Your participation generates enthusiasm and encourages others to join in supporting the school, and it is a key indicator to prospective supporters and corporate donors that we have consistent support from those we serve, both past and present.

Each grade to reach 100% participation will receive a class prize!

HOW MUCH SHOULD I GIVE?

You are the only one who knows how much you are able to give. One hundred percent of Asheville Waldorf School’s Board members and faculty give to the Annual Fund, and we count on every AWS family to do the same. What matters most is your participation. Each gift, no matter the size, makes an impact.

Some employers are willing to match an employee’s contribution. If you think this might apply to you, please ask your employer if it could be an option and let us know.

MAXIMIZE YOUR IMPACT.

When you gift stocks and other securities directly to a charity, you make a tremendous impact without taking money directly out of your bank account. Plus, neither you nor the charity will be taxed on the gains for appreciated assets you donate. Meet your giving goals, enjoy potential tax benefits, and contribute to the change you want to see.
