AMANDA LANIER

Amanda became passionate about Waldorf education while studying parenting and education styles after the birth of her daughter, Maya. What she learned moved her deeply and inspired her to open a Waldorf-inspired childcare program in her home. She continued to develop and operate this program until her child started kindergarten at Asheville Waldorf School.

She moved to Asheville to attend Warren Wilson College in 2008. Amanda earned a degree in Social Work there and spent many years working with local nonprofits. These days you can find her at the front desk of our dear school or at her West Asheville home with Maya and their pets. In her spare time, she likes to go hiking and swimming. She also loves crafting, quilting, and cooking.
