K. KILEY

For as long as she can recall, Kiley’s life has been filled with children, beginning with her 15 siblings and the numerous little ones her Mother would care for each day. She recalls being overjoyed when her youngest sibling, a sister, was born. She grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio with her large family in a wonderful neighborhood. She attended a Catholic Boarding High School in Indiana and then went off to college which led her to Florida and then to Maryland where she stayed for almost 30 years.

Kiley spent much of her life working with children and in food service in D.C., while also teaching yoga and personal training. Once she welcomed her child into the world she discovered Acorn Hill Kindergarten and Nursery in Silver Spring, Maryland and immediately knew she had found a community and way with children that she wanted to explore more. Kiley began taking courses focusing on Pikler, RIE and Waldorf approaches.  She transitioned to Washington Waldorf School where she assisted in the outdoor kindergarten and then became a Lead Kindergarten teacher.

She loves to spend time outdoors wandering in the woods or sitting on a beach and knew that Asheville would provide that for her as well as being closer to her many siblings and nieces and nephews in Ohio. Kiley and her son love visiting art museums and listening to albums on their record player. She is passionate about healthy living, cooking and being a mother and caregiver.
