UPDATE: April 24th, 2020: Gov. Cooper declared continued closure for K-12 schools for the remainder of the school year, deferring to online learning for the rest of the calendar.

March, 23rd, 2020:  Gov. Cooper announced that all public schools in NC will remain closed until May 15.  In accordance with the recommendations from local and federal health agencies, Asheville Waldorf School will remain closed as well.

In order to stay abreast of the complex and evolving situation in the United States and to exercise best practices in safeguarding our community, Asheville Waldorf School is remaining in constant communication with governmental and educational organizations.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will Asheville Waldorf School reopen for on campus learning this fall?

Asheville Waldorf School is planning on campus instruction beginning in August. We will open with outdoor classrooms for all classes and grades. 

How will my child’s education continue in the event of an extended school closure?

Our faculty has prepared lessons, assignments, activities, resources, etc. that will allow our educational program to continue as much as possible during a future school closure.

What about school events, gatherings, and trips?

School events and gatherings are postponed for the time being. Beginning this fall, we will assess each event on a case by case basis.
