Board of Directors

AWS Board of Directors

The Board of Directors provides leadership in promoting, supporting and carrying out the long-term Vision and Mission of the Asheville Waldorf School, while working collaboratively with its Faculty, Administration, and parents. The Board is the guardian and protector of the school. Its main task is to oversee the financial stability and legal responsibility of our corporate school community.

Comprised of teachers, parents, and members of the Asheville community, the Board of Directors is a group of leaders who are dedicated to Waldorf education and the Asheville Waldorf School and are able to make critical business decisions pertaining to the governance of the school that enable it to continue to grow and thrive. The Board are actively involved in Annual and Capital fundraising. They are not involved in the day-to-day operations of the school nor curriculum matters, as the latter is the responsibility of the Faculty. The Board oversees the following committees: the Development Committee, Business Committee, Site Committee, and Fundraising Committee.

Meetings are held monthly on the first Monday and are open to the public. You can reach the Board via board@ashevillewaldorf.org
